Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and 2 tablespoons of flour until well combined.
- Spread this apple mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
Assembly and Baking
- In another bowl, combine rolled oats, 3/4 cup of all-purpose flour, 3/4 cup of brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the crumbly topping evenly over the apple layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
- Allow it to cool slightly before serving warm, preferably with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
