Method
Preparation
- Remove the oven racks and set them aside.
- Dust out any loose crumbs from the oven floor.
Mixing the Paste
- Mix 1 cup of baking soda with 3 to 5 tablespoons of warm water to create a thick, spreadable paste.
Applying the Paste
- Spread the paste over the oven floor, sides, and inside of the door, avoiding heating elements.
Letting it Sit
- Allow the paste to sit for 30 to 60 minutes for everyday grease, or 2 to 3 hours for tougher stains.
Wiping and Rinsing
- Use a damp sponge to lift the paste and grime, rinsing the sponge often.
- For stubborn areas, gently scrape with a plastic scraper.
Finishing Up
- Wipe the oven door glass clean and spritz lightly with vinegar for extra shine.
Notes
For heavy-duty cleaning, mix baking soda with water and coarse salt, apply generously, and let it sit longer. Remember to periodically clean your oven based on use.
