  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 4 beaten eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups whole milk

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt, whisking until well blended.
  3. Pour in the vegetable oil, melted butter, honey, beaten eggs, and milk. Stir gently just until all ingredients are moistened; be sure not to over-mix.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the greased baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes.
  2. The cornbread should turn golden and start to show cracks on the surface as it approaches the end of the cooking time.
  3. Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
