Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs Use room temperature for smoother batter.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour Can be substituted with gluten-free flour.
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon Feel free to adjust according to taste.
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the applesauce, honey, and vegetable oil until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  2. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  3. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
