- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line 12 muffin cups with paper liners.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, 3/4 cup chocolate chips, cocoa powder, and baking soda.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together yogurt, milk, oil, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the yogurt mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir until the batter is just blended.
- Fill the prepared muffin cups 3/4 full and sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup chocolate chips on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 20 minutes.
- Cool the muffins in the pans for 10 minutes before removing them to cool completely on a wire rack.
Notes
These chocolate muffins are incredibly moist and chocolaty, thanks to the addition of cocoa powder and chocolate chips. Be careful not to overmix the batter.
