  • 4 small small onions
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Cooking spray For air frying

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Peel each onion and cut off the top. Carefully slice downwards, creating petals while keeping the root intact.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs and buttermilk.
  4. Dip each onion into the flour mixture, ensuring it’s thoroughly coated. Soak the onion in the egg mixture before rolling it in breadcrumbs.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Spray the coated onions with cooking spray and place them in the basket.
  3. Cook for 15-20 minutes until they turn golden brown and crispy.
Serving

Notes
