  • 85 g unsalted butter
  • 6 cups regular marshmallows Flavored or mini marshmallows can be used.
  • 4 cups Rice Bubbles (Krispies) Can be swapped for a nut-free cereal option.
  • ½ tsp salt
  • to taste red food coloring Feel free to experiment with different colors.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Prepare a Bain-Marie: Fill a small pot with 1/2 cup of water and bring it to a boil. Place a large heatproof bowl over the pot.
  2. Add the unsalted butter and regular marshmallows to the heatproof bowl. Whisk until smooth (2-4 minutes).
  3. Remove from heat and mix in the salt and red food coloring.
  4. In a separate bowl, add the Rice Bubbles and pour the marshmallow mixture over them, mixing thoroughly.
  5. Lightly oil your hands and shape the mixture into oval 'brains', creating a dent in the middle with a butter knife.
  6. Decorate with red food coloring using a toothpick to draw veins.
