Fresh Vegetables
  • 2 medium Medium cucumbers, thinly sliced Fresh cucumbers enhance flavor.
  • 1 medium Medium red onion, thinly sliced Use fresh red onion for best results.
  • 3 medium Medium tomatoes, chopped Chopped tomatoes add freshness.
Dressing
  • 1/4 cup Olive oil Extra virgin olive oil recommended.
  • 1/4 cup Red wine vinegar Can be replaced with apple cider vinegar.
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Season to preference.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper Freshly ground for best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh dill, chopped Adds a fresh herb flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the sliced cucumbers, sliced red onion, and chopped tomatoes.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, red wine vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until the sugar is dissolved.
Marinating
  1. Pour the dressing over the vegetables and toss gently to coat. Sprinkle the chopped dill over the salad and toss again.
  2. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Serving
  1. Serve the salad chilled as a side dish or a light snack.
