Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb sirloin steak
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • to taste fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Take the sirloin steak out of the fridge and let it rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a small bowl, mix the garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and smoked paprika.
  • Rub the steak with olive oil, then sprinkle the spice mix all over the steak, pressing it in gently.

Cooking

  • Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until nicely browned.
  • Add the soy sauce and butter to the skillet. Spoon the melted butter over the steak.
  • Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and cook for about 5-7 minutes for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer it more done.
  • Remove the skillet from the oven and let the steak rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.

Notes

Always let your steak rest before slicing to help the juices redistribute, making it more tender. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness—aim for 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare. Feel free to adjust the spices based on your taste.
