  • 1/4 cup red onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped For garnish and added flavor.
  • 1-2 jalapeño peppers, seeded and diced Adjust the amount based on your spice preference.
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice You may want to add a bit more before storing to keep the avocado from browning.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by scooping out the flesh of the avocados and placing them in a mixing bowl.
  • Dice the cherry tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, and jalapeño peppers, and add them to the bowl with the avocados.
  • Gently mash the ingredients together with a fork until you reach your desired consistency.
  • Squeeze fresh lime juice over the mixture and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Give the dip a final stir to ensure all the flavors are well combined.
  • Serve the Lake Day Dip in a decorative bowl and garnish with additional cilantro leaves for a pop of color.

Notes

You can serve Lake Day Dip with tortilla chips, pita bread, or fresh vegetable sticks. It's also great as a topping for tacos or grilled meats. For the best flavor, let it sit for about 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to blend. If you have leftovers, store in an airtight container in the fridge for 1-2 days for best freshness. You can add black beans or corn for extra flavor and texture, or mix in sour cream or Greek yogurt for a creamier dip.
