Hummus is a tasty and healthy dip made from chickpeas, perfect for snacking or as part of a meal.

Ingredients
  

Main ingredients
  • 1 can 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 tablespoons 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Water, as needed
  • Paprika, for garnish (optional)
  • Olive oil, for drizzling (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, and minced garlic.
  2. Blend until smooth, adding water as needed to achieve desired consistency.
  3. Season with salt to taste and blend again.
  4. Transfer to a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with paprika if desired.
  5. Serve with pita bread, vegetables, or as part of a mezze platter.

Notes

Chill the hummus for a bit before serving. It tastes even better when it's cold! Store any leftover hummus in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 4 to 7 days.
