Hot Ham and Cheese Sliders
Deliciously simple Hot Ham and Cheese Sliders, perfect for gatherings and quick family meals, packed with flavor and loved by all.
Ingredients
For the sliders
- 12 pieces standard or 24 small soft white rolls
- 350 g ham, shaved or thinly sliced
- 250 g Swiss cheese, or other melting cheese slices
- 1/4 piece onion, finely chopped
For the butter mixture
- 100 g unsalted butter, melted
- 1/3 cup American mustard for spreading on the rolls
- 2 tbsp American mustard for the butter mixture
- 1 tbsp poppy seeds
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp cooking/kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F. Line the base of a 23 x 33cm / 13 x 9 inch pan with paper.
- Mix the butter ingredients together in a bowl.
- Cut the slab of rolls in half horizontally. Spread both the base and lid with 1/3 cup mustard.
- Place the bottom half in the pan. Cover it with ham, then cheese.
Baking
- Bake for 10 minutes until the cheese melts.
- Remove from the oven and place the top half on. Pour or spoon over the butter mixture.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove the foil, pierce the intersections of the rolls, and bake uncovered for another 10 minutes or until the top is crusty.
- Cut while hot and serve!
Notes
Best served warm. Can be customized with different meats or cheeses. Great with dips for added flavor. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
