  • 6 standard-sized hot dogs, sliced Use low-sodium if desired
  • 1 cup chopped yellow onion Can substitute with shallots
  • 2/3 cup sour cream Greek yogurt can be used instead
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley Optional, for garnish

Cooking
  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the chopped onions and sliced hot dogs, cooking for about 5 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they’re browned.
  3. Stir in the sour cream and water, mixing until the sauce is creamy.
  4. Heat until the mixture is steamy, then serve it over cooked egg noodles, elbow macaroni, or your favorite pasta.
  5. Top with chopped fresh parsley for an added pop of freshness.
