Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Coat a 13×9-inch baking dish with 1/4 cup olive oil.
- Unroll both cans of French bread dough into the prepared dish, pressing it into the corners. Pinch seams together to ensure a seamless surface.
- Dimple the dough all over with your fingertips and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
Adding Toppings
- After the rest, dimple the dough again, drizzle with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, and sprinkle evenly with Italian seasoning and flaky salt.
- Create a cheesy perimeter by lining the edges with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Gently nestle the hot dogs into the dough in two rows of four, pressing them down lightly.
Baking
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Keep an eye on the baking time, as it may vary slightly depending on your oven.
- Allow the bread to cool for 5 minutes before adding your favorite toppings and slicing to serve warm.
