Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided 1 tbsp for cooking chicken, 1 tbsp for sautéing broccoli
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice, for serving optional, for serving

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by seasoning the chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat one tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the chicken and cook until golden brown and fully cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Once done, remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil along with the broccoli florets. Stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes until the broccoli is tender-crisp.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and minced garlic. In another bowl, mix cornstarch with water until smooth.
  6. Return the cooked chicken to the pan with broccoli. Pour in the honey-soy sauce mixture and stir to coat everything evenly.
  7. Add the cornstarch slurry to the pan and stir continuously for about 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  8. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top of your delicious chicken and broccoli.
  9. Enjoy your dish served hot over a bed of cooked rice.
