  • 500 g carne molida de res (ground beef)
  • 500 g carne molida de puerco (ground pork)
  • 1 unit huevo (egg)
  • 1/2 cup pan molido (breadcrumbs)
  • 1 clove diente de ajo finamente picado (garlic, finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon salsa China (soy sauce)
  • to taste Pimienta al gusto (Pepper)
  • to taste Sal al gusto (Salt)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Begin by finely chopping and crushing the garlic.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef and pork with the crushed garlic, breadcrumbs, soy sauce, egg, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  4. Once the mixture is well mixed, form it into balls and flatten them into patties—size and thickness are up to your preference.
  5. Wrap each patty in plastic and freeze them for later use.
Cooking
  1. To cook, remove a frozen patty from the plastic wrap, and cook it on a griddle until thoroughly cooked (approximately 15 minutes per side).

Notes

For a lighter option, consider swapping the ground pork for turkey or chicken. The breadcrumbs can also be substituted with crushed crackers or panko for added crunch. If you have the time, chill the meat mixture for about 30 minutes before forming patties to help hold their shape. Don’t overmix, and taste test for seasoning adjustments before forming all patties.
