Batter Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Standard flour for the batter.
  • 1 cup milk Whole milk recommended for a richer taste.
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted Add warmth and richness to the cobbler.
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder Leavening agent for the batter.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Optional, adds flavor depth.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the blackberries with 1/2 cup sugar and set aside to marinate.
  3. In another bowl, combine the flour, the remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla until the mixture resembles a smooth batter.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  6. Spoon the blackberry mixture over the batter, but do not stir.
Baking
  1. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until it is golden brown on top.
  2. Serve warm, preferably with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
