For the Salad
  • 5 large heirloom tomatoes, sliced Choose tomatoes at their peak ripeness for the sweetest flavor.
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/4 cup torn basil
  • 1/4 cup toasted nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans), chopped Feel free to experiment with different types of nuts.
  • 2 Tbsp sesame seeds
  • Bread for serving (optional) Delicious with some fresh bread on the side.
For the Dressing
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste Add to the dressing for enhanced flavor.

Preparation
  1. Begin by slicing the heirloom tomatoes and halving the cherry tomatoes, placing them in a large salad bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, prepare the dressing by combining lemon juice, lemon zest, honey, and olive oil. Whisk until smooth and well-blended.
  3. Add salt and pepper to taste, mixing it into the dressing.
  4. Pour the dressing over the tomatoes, gently tossing to ensure each tomato is coated.
  5. To finish, sprinkle the torn basil, chopped nuts, and sesame seeds over the salad before serving.

Notes
