Method
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish or line it with parchment.
- Using a long serrated knife, slice the entire 12-pack of King's Hawaiian rolls horizontally so you have a bottom slab and a top slab.
- Arrange the bottom half of the rolls in the baking dish, keeping the rolls touching.
Assembly and baking
- Layer the deli ham evenly over the bottom rolls.
- Top the ham with Swiss cheese slices, overlapping slightly.
- Place the top slab of rolls back on.
- Brush the melted butter generously over the tops of the rolls.
- Tent the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the cheese is visibly melted.
- Remove the foil and bake an additional 3–5 minutes to lightly brown the tops.
- Let rest for 3–5 minutes, then use a sharp knife to slice between the individual rolls and serve warm.

Notes
If you prefer a sharper profile, swap Swiss for Gruyère or provolone. For a tangy glaze, mix a teaspoon of Dijon into the melted butter. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3–4 days.
