Preparation
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined. Shape into four equal patties.
Cooking the Patties
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they’re browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Making the Gravy
- In the same skillet, add sliced onions and cook until soft, about 3-4 minutes. Sprinkle the flour over the onions, stirring well to combine.
- Gradually add in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce while stirring. Bring to a simmer until the gravy thickens.
Combining
- Return the cooked patties to the skillet, spoon the gravy over them, and let it cook for another 2 minutes.
