Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup carrots, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 10.75 ounce can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • chopped fresh parsley, optional for garnish

  • 9x13-inch Baking Dish
  • Large Skillet
  • Aluminum Foil

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch dish. Brown the ground beef in a skillet, adding onion and garlic until softened.
  2. Layer potatoes, carrots, peas, and half the beef mixture in the dish. Repeat layers. Mix soup with water and pour over the top. Cover with cheese.
  3. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for 15 more minutes or until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
  4. Let cool slightly before garnishing with parsley, if using, and serve warm.
