Ingredients
  

For the crust
  • 1 piece pie crust store-bought or homemade
For the filling
  • 6 large eggs room temperature for better mixing
  • 1 cup heavy cream room temperature for better mixing
  • 1 cup diced ham leftover ham works great
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or Swiss
  • 1/2 cup diced onion optional, sauté for sweetness
  • to taste Salt and pepper to season
  • to taste Herbs such as thyme or parsley, optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the crust by placing it in a 9-inch pie pan and crimping the edges.
Mixing the filling
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and heavy cream until well combined.
  2. Add the diced ham, shredded cheese, and optional onion to the mixture. Season with salt, pepper, and any herbs you desire.
Baking
  1. Pour the mixture into the prepared crust, ensuring an even distribution.
  2. Place the quiche in the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden.
  3. Allow the quiche to cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
