Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Filling
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 egg for washing

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the flour, softened butter, water, and salt. Mix until you form a pliable dough.
  3. On a floured surface, roll out the dough and cut it into circles.
  4. In another bowl, mix the diced ham, shredded cheese, and pepper until well combined.
  5. Place a spoonful of the ham and cheese mixture on one half of each dough circle.
  6. Fold the other half over and press the edges with a fork to seal.
  7. Brush the tops of the pockets with a beaten egg for a golden finish.
  8. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until they are golden brown.

Notes
