Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, combine the flour, softened butter, water, and salt. Mix until you form a pliable dough.
- On a floured surface, roll out the dough and cut it into circles.
- In another bowl, mix the diced ham, shredded cheese, and pepper until well combined.
- Place a spoonful of the ham and cheese mixture on one half of each dough circle.
- Fold the other half over and press the edges with a fork to seal.
- Brush the tops of the pockets with a beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until they are golden brown.
Notes
These pockets can be served with a fresh salad, tomato soup, or a variety of dips. Leftovers store well in an airtight container for up to three days. You can freeze unbaked pockets, layering them between parchment paper.
