Ingredients
  

For the mashed potatoes

  • 2 lbs potatoes Choose starchy varieties like Russets for creaminess.
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter

For the beef gravy

  • 1 lb ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 1 medium onion Chopped.
  • 2 cloves garlic Minced.
  • 2 cups beef broth Can substitute with vegetable broth for vegetarian version.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks, then boil them in salted water until tender.
  • Drain, then mash with milk, butter, salt, and pepper.

Cooking

  • In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until fragrant.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned.
  • Stir in the beef broth and let simmer for a few minutes until the gravy thickens.

Serving

  • Serve the ground beef and gravy over the mashed potatoes.

Notes

For extra flavor, add some Worcestershire sauce to the beef mixture. You can customize this recipe by adding vegetables like peas or carrots to the gravy. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze individual portions for longer storage.
