Method
Make the Brioche Buns
- In a bowl, combine warm water, milk, sugar, and dry yeast. Let it sit until bubbly.
- Beat in the eggs, then add in the flour, salt, and softened butter. Knead until smooth, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour.
Shape the Buns
- After the dough has doubled in size, divide it into equal parts and shape into balls.
- Arrange on a baking sheet, sprinkle sesame seeds on top if desired, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
Prepare the Patties
- Heat a pan with oil. Season the beef with salt and pepper, then form into patties.
- Cook on medium heat until they reach your preferred doneness.
Prepare the Toppings
- While the patties are cooking, slice the bell peppers, pit and slice the olives, and set aside your cheese, pickles, and lettuce.
Bake the Buns
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake the buns for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let them cool before slicing.
Assemble the Burgers
- Layer the bottom bun with lettuce, a beef patty, cheese, bell pepper, green olives, and a dash of ketchup.
- Top off with the upper bun.
Serve with Riffelpommes
- A side of crispy fries is the perfect companion to your beautifully assembled burgers.
