  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 piece onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup chicken broth Can substitute with homemade vegetable broth.
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream Dairy-free alternative: Use coconut milk.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 piece lime, juiced
  • to taste cilantro, chopped For garnish.

Method
 

Cooking
  1. Heat the olive oil and butter in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the garlic cloves and the seasoned chicken breasts, frying them until they turn a beautiful golden brown.
  3. Remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside momentarily.
  4. Use the remaining oil to mash the garlic to unlock its flavors.
  5. Add the sliced onions, allowing them to soften.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth and add a pinch of salt.
  7. Stir in the cream and black pepper for richness.
  8. Add oregano, lime juice, and chopped cilantro.
  9. Return the chicken to the pan and let it simmer in the creamy sauce for about 8 minutes.
  10. Serve the dish piping hot over a bed of white rice, generously spooning more sauce over the chicken.
