Ingredients
  

For the Toffee Base
  • 2 sleeves graham crackers
  • 1 1/4 cups butter (2 1/2 sticks)
  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups chopped pecans Can be substituted with almonds or walnuts.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For Topping
  • 3/4 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips Use high-quality chocolate chips for a richer taste.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Arrange the graham crackers in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  4. Add the brown sugar to the melted butter and cook until bubbling, stirring constantly. Boil for 2 minutes.
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and chopped pecans.
  6. Carefully pour the hot pecan toffee over the graham crackers and spread it evenly with a spatula.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with mini chocolate chips.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for 1 hour or until firm.

Notes
