- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9” baking dish with parchment paper, or spray it with cooking spray.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and sea salt until well blended.
- In another bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
- Gradually incorporate the flour mixture into the butter-sugar mixture. Mix gently until just combined—overmixing can lead to tough bars.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
Baking
- Bake for 20-22 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the center looks set.
- Allow to cool completely before slicing into nine delicious squares.
