Preparation
  1. Start by pouring the golden syrup into a pudding bowl.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter and sugar. Mix until you achieve a creamy consistency.
  3. Add in the three eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Gradually add the flour and vanilla essence to the mix, stirring until smooth.
  5. Carefully pour this delightful mixture over the golden syrup already in the pudding bowl.
  6. Cover the bowl tightly with foil to prevent condensation. Place it in a steamer with a small amount of water, cover the pot with a lid, and cook on high for four hours.
  7. Once cooked, serve the pudding warm with a generous helping of custard.
