Ingredients

For the Brie Bites
  • 1 wheel brie (chilled), cut into 1-inch cubes Use a high-quality brie for best results.
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour For breading.
  • 2 large eggs, beaten For binding.
  • 1 cup finely chopped pistachios Can substitute with other nuts if desired.
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs Provides a crispy texture.
  • a pinch salt To taste.
  • a pinch pepper To taste.
  • as needed Oil for frying or baking Can use vegetable or canola oil.
  • to taste Raspberry sauce (or drizzle) for serving Feel free to experiment with other sauces.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by cutting the chilled brie into 1-inch cubes.
  2. Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with the beaten eggs, and the last containing the pistachios mixed with panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Dip each brie cube into the flour, making sure it’s well-coated. Then, move it to the egg mixture, and finally, coat it with the pistachio-panko blend.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat or preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. If frying, gently place the brie bites in the hot oil and cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. If baking, arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, until they’re crispy and the cheese is gooey.
Serving
  1. Serve the warm golden bites drizzled with raspberry sauce for that perfect finishing touch.

Notes

To store any leftovers, place them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheating can be done in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-10 minutes until warm. For variations, consider stuffing with fig jam or using a plant-based brie alternative.
