  • 1 cup powdered sugar For the glaze.
  • 2 tbsp milk Adjusts glaze consistency.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Mix the warm milk and yeast in a bowl and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
Making the dough
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add the foamed yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.
Kneading
  1. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about an hour or until doubled in size.
Filling and shaping
  1. Roll the risen dough out on a floured surface to a rectangle. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough. Fold and cut into squares or triangles.
Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place pastries on a lined baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly.
Glazing
  1. Mix the glaze ingredients in a bowl and drizzle generously over warm pastries.
