Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch (23×33 cm) cake pan and dust it with flour.
- In a large bowl, whisk the flour, ground ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, ground cloves, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- In another large bowl, mix the melted butter with brown sugar, molasses, and hot water. Blend until fully incorporated.
- Whisk in the eggs and vanilla extract.
- Gently incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until well combined.
Baking
- Pour the batter into your prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean.
