Preparation
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until evenly blended.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and egg. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
- In a deep fryer or heavy pot, heat the vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).
Cooking
- Using a piping bag or squeeze bottle, pipe small rounds of the batter directly into the hot oil.
- Cook until they are golden brown, approximately 1-2 minutes on each side.
- Carefully remove them from the oil and let them drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar before enjoying them warm.
