Ingredients
  

Cake and Fruits
  • 1 9-inch 9-inch pound cake or angel cake
  • 2 cups mango, cut up (more for garnishing)
  • 1 lb grapes, halved (more for garnishing)
  • 3 large bananas
Custard and Cream
  • 4.5 to 5 cups prepared custard Follow package instructions.
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup reduced fat Greek yogurt Can swap with sour cream.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract Add extra flavor if desired.
Juices
  • 1 cup mango juice

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Prepare and cut the fruits. Cut the cake into 1-inch cubes.
  2. Prepare the custard according to package instructions.
Layering
  1. In the bottom of a trifle dish or deep serving bowl, layer about 1 cup of hot custard. Add 1/3 of the cake pieces and pour 1/3 cup of mango juice over them.
  2. Follow with 1/3 of the mango, grapes, and bananas. Repeat layering until all ingredients are used.
Whipped Topping
  1. Beat the heavy whipping cream with sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  2. Gently fold in the Greek yogurt until well combined.
  3. Pour the whipped mixture on top and level it out. Garnish with leftover fruits.
Refrigeration
  1. Refrigerate for a couple of hours to allow the cake to soak up the mango juice before serving.

Notes
