Instructions
In a mixing bowl, beat the egg with sugar and vanilla sugar until well combined.
Add oil to the mixture and stir until incorporated.
Gradually add water, flour, and baking powder to the mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
Knead the dough until smooth. Divide it into two equal parts.
Add cocoa to one part of the dough and knead until the cocoa is evenly distributed.
Roll out both dough portions into thin cakes.
Place one cake on top of the other and roll them together into a tight roll.
Cut the roll into smaller pieces using a thread.
Heat a generous amount of oil in a frying pan.
Fry the cocoa swivels in the hot oil until they are golden brown and crispy.
Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
Serve the fried cocoa swivels warm and enjoy!
Notes
Ensure the dough is sufficiently rested to allow for proper rising.
