Method
- In a mixing bowl, beat the egg with sugar and vanilla sugar until well combined.
- Add oil to the mixture and stir until incorporated.
- Gradually add water, flour, and baking powder to the mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough until smooth. Divide it into two equal parts.
- Add cocoa to one part of the dough and knead until the cocoa is evenly distributed.
- Roll out both dough portions into thin cakes.
- Place one cake on top of the other and roll them together into a tight roll.
- Cut the roll into smaller pieces using a thread.
- Heat a generous amount of oil in a frying pan.
- Fry the cocoa swivels in the hot oil until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve the fried cocoa swivels warm and enjoy!
Notes
Ensure the dough is sufficiently rested to allow for proper rising.
