Fried Cocoa Swivels

Ingredients
  

  • 1 egg
  • 140 g 0.7 cup sugar
  • 70 ml 0.3 cup oil
  • 10 g vanilla sugar
  • 450 g 3.6 cups all-purpose flour
  • 170 ml 0.7 cup water
  • 10 g baking powder
  • 15 g cocoa

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, beat the egg with sugar and vanilla sugar until well combined.
  • Add oil to the mixture and stir until incorporated.
  • Gradually add water, flour, and baking powder to the mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough until smooth. Divide it into two equal parts.
  • Add cocoa to one part of the dough and knead until the cocoa is evenly distributed.
  • Roll out both dough portions into thin cakes.
  • Place one cake on top of the other and roll them together into a tight roll.
  • Cut the roll into smaller pieces using a thread.
  • Heat a generous amount of oil in a frying pan.
  • Fry the cocoa swivels in the hot oil until they are golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  • Serve the fried cocoa swivels warm and enjoy!

Notes

Ensure the dough is sufficiently rested to allow for proper rising.
