  • 24 ounces Texas toast thick bread, cut into 1 ½ inch cubes
  • 12 large eggs
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream Can substitute with half-and-half or almond milk.
  • 1.5 cups whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1.5 cups brown sugar Can substitute with white sugar mixed with molasses or coconut sugar.
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups chopped pecans
  • 0.5 cup melted butter

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Spray a 9x13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, whole milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and brown sugar until well combined.
  3. Gently fold in the Texas toast cubes until they soak up the egg mixture.
  4. Pour everything into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  5. In another bowl, combine the melted butter, all-purpose flour, and chopped pecans. Sprinkle this mixture over the top of the French toast.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden and crispy.

Notes
