Delightful and spooky, these Frankenstein Rice Krispie Treats are a no-bake snack perfect for Halloween celebrations. Easy and fun to make, they are a hit with kids and adults alike!

Ingredients
  

For the Treats
  • 6 cups Rice Krispie cereal Can substitute with a similar crisped rice cereal.
  • 1 10 oz bag mini marshmallows
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
For the Decoration
  • 10 oz green candy melts
  • 3 oz black candy melts Use a piping bag for decorations.
  • Royal icing eyes For decorating.
  • Black jimmies sprinkles For decorating.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Butter a 9" x 13" casserole dish to prevent sticking.
  2. In a large pot over low-medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.
  3. Add the mini marshmallows to the pot, stirring continuously until the mixture is smooth and fully melted.
  4. Pour in the Rice Krispie cereal and stir with a spatula until every piece is coated in marshmallow.
  5. Spoon the mixture into your buttered casserole dish, pressing it down evenly to flatten the top. Let it set for about 30 minutes.
Decorating
  1. Remove the treats from the dish and cut them into rectangles.
  2. Melt the green candy melts in a double boiler or microwave, stirring until smooth. Add a teaspoon of vegetable shortening if needed.
  3. Dip the top of each treat into the green candy melts and sprinkle with black jimmies. Add royal icing eyes on top.
  4. Melt the black candy melts and pipe stitches onto the treats.
  5. Allow everything to cool and set completely before serving.

Notes
