Main Ingredients
  • 6 cups rice krispie cereal
  • 10 oz bag mini marshmallows
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
Decorations
  • 10 oz green candy melts
  • 3 oz black candy melts
  • 1 package royal icing eyes
  • 1 cup black jimmies sprinkles

Method

Preparation
  1. Grease a 9" x 13" casserole dish with butter to prevent sticking.
  2. In a large pot, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium-low heat.
  3. Once the butter is melted, add the 10 oz of mini marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth.
  4. Pour in the 6 cups of rice krispie cereal and mix thoroughly with a spatula until every piece is coated.
  5. Spoon the mixture into the prepared dish and press down with your hands or spatula to create an even layer.
  6. Allow to cool for about 30 minutes until firm.
  7. Once set, remove the treats from the dish and cut them into fun rectangles.
  8. Melt the 10 oz of green candy melts in a bowl over a pot of boiling water, stirring until smooth, adding a teaspoon of vegetable shortening if necessary.
  9. Dip the top of each treat into the melted green candy melts and sprinkle with black jimmies. Finish by placing two royal icing eyes on each treat.
  10. Melt the black candy melts in the microwave, fill a piping bag and pipe stitches on the treats.
  11. Allow the decorated treats to set completely before enjoying or packaging.
