  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast Can substitute with brisket or chicken.
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • to taste Salt and pepper
For Serving
  • 4 slices of bread For serving; can use crusty bread.
  • 1 cup mashed potatoes Optional for serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Season the beef chuck roast generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Slice the onion and mince the garlic, then layer them at the bottom of your slow cooker.
  3. Place the seasoned beef on top of the onions and garlic.
  4. Pour in the beef broth, diced tomatoes, and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is fork-tender.
  6. Once the cooking time is up, shred the beef with two forks and gently stir it into the flavorful sauce.
  7. Serve your savory beef mixture over slices of bread and optionally with a scoop of creamy mashed potatoes on the side.

Notes
