Equipment

  • - Skillet
  • - Cooking thermometer
  • - Mixing spoon

Ingredients

  • - 1 lb chicken breasts halved lengthwise
  • - Salt pepper, garlic powder (to taste)
  • - 3 tbsp butter
  • - 3 tbsp flour
  • - 2 cups chicken broth
  • - 1/2 tsp salt
  • - 1/2 tsp pepper
  • - 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • - 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • - 1 tsp paprika
  • - 1 tsp onion powder
  • - 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  • Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter. Once melted, add flour and stir continuously until well combined. Cook for a few minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Add chicken broth and stir well. Season with salt, pepper, oregano, thyme, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder. Stir until bubbling, then add the chicken to the skillet.
  • Ensure chicken is covered in the gravy, cover with a lid, and reduce heat to medium-low. Cook for 12-15 minutes or until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. If chicken is thin, it may cook faster.
  • Shred the chicken and serve over mashed potatoes. Enjoy!

Notes

Adjust seasoning according to personal preference. Ensure chicken is cooked through before serving.
