Ingredients
  

For the Brownie Layer
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
For the Cheesecake Layer
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter, and then remove it from heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  3. Add in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder, and mix until well combined.
  4. Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat together the cheesecake ingredients until smooth.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of cheesecake batter over the brownie layer and swirl with a knife for a marbled effect.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the brownie part comes out clean.
  2. Let cool before slicing into squares and serving.
