  • 1 piece ribeye steak (about 1 inch thick), frozen A frozen ribeye steak is used for easy cooking.
  • 1/2 tablespoon avocado oil Can substitute with any oil with a high smoke point.
  • coarse salt or steak seasoning Generously season to taste.

Preparation

  • Start with a completely frozen ribeye steak.
  • Brush both sides of the steak with avocado oil.
  • Season generously with coarse salt or your favorite steak seasoning.

Cooking

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Place the seasoned steak in the preheated air fryer.
  • Cook for 8–12 minutes on each side, aiming for about 10 minutes on each side for medium doneness.
  • Remove the steak and let it rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check the temperature: 130°F for medium-rare, 140°F for medium, 150°F for medium-well.

Notes

Let leftover steak cool down to room temperature, then wrap in plastic wrap or foil and store in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Make sure to wrap well to prevent freezer burn. Don't skip the resting time to help the juices redistribute in the steak.
