Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- If using fresh peaches, peel, pit, and slice them before tossing with 1/2 cup of granulated sugar. Set aside.
Batter Preparation
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, remaining sugar, and salt.
- Gradually pour in the milk and melted butter while stirring until the mixture is smooth.
Assembling and Baking
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and pour the batter into it. Do not stir!
- Spoon the peach mixture over the top, allowing it to float on the batter.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
- Enjoy warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream!
