Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and Coca Cola together over medium heat, stirring until smooth.
- Pour the Coca Cola mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Add the buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract to the batter, stirring until smooth.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool before dusting with confectioners' sugar if desired.
- Slice and serve either warm or at room temperature.
