  • 1 lb ground beef or shredded chicken Choose your preferred meat.
  • 1 packet taco seasoning For flavoring the meat.
  • 1 can (10 oz) Rotel (diced tomatoes with green chilies) Can be substituted with plain diced tomatoes.
  • 1 can (10 oz) cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup Choose based on flavor preference.
  • 1/2 cup sour cream Low-fat versions can be used.
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided) Use different cheeses for variations.
  • 1 large bag Nacho Cheese Doritos, slightly crushed Layering the bottom and top with Doritos.
Optional Toppings
  • diced tomatoes For garnish.
  • green onions For garnish.
  • jalapeños For garnish, if you like spice.
  • cilantro For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef or chicken until browned, draining any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the taco seasoning, Rotel, cream of chicken soup, and sour cream until thoroughly combined.
  4. In a baking dish, create a layer of slightly crushed Doritos at the bottom.
  5. Spread the meat mixture evenly over the Doritos and top with 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Add another layer of crushed Doritos followed by the remaining cheese.
  7. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Once out of the oven, add any optional toppings before serving.

Notes
