Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Can be substituted with gluten-free flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cinnamon filling
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted For the filling
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Can substitute with coconut sugar for a healthier option
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon Use fresh ground for best flavor
Icing
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk Adjust for desired consistency
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract For the icing

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan and set it aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract together.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring just until combined. Do not overmix; it's okay if a few lumps remain.
  5. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and ground cinnamon to create the filling.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the batter. Add the remaining batter and gently spread it to cover. Top with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Use a knife to swirl the mixture into the batter for a marbled look.
Baking
  1. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Icing and Serving
  1. While the bread cools, mix together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl until smooth.
  2. Once the bread cools slightly, drizzle the icing generously on top and enjoy.
