- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, 3 tablespoons cocoa, and 3/4 cup white sugar. Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour batter into an ungreased 8-inch square baking dish.
- In a separate small bowl, mix together the remaining 1/2 cup white sugar, brown sugar, and 4 tablespoons cocoa. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter.
- Pour hot water over the top, but do not stir.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is set and the cobbler is bubbly.
Notes
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent treat.
