Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts Trim off any excess fat before cooking
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce Feel free to swap with your favorite brand
  • 1/4 cup Italian dressing
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar Add an extra tablespoon for a sweeter flavor
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • to taste salt and pepper Optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken breasts, ensuring they are thoroughly coated.
Cooking
  1. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
  2. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the slow cooker and use two forks to shred it.
  3. Return the shredded chicken back to the crockpot and stir it with the remaining sauce to mix well.
  4. Allow the chicken to cook for an additional 15–20 minutes to absorb all those flavors.
Serving
  1. Serve the BBQ chicken on buns, over rice, or with your favorite side dishes.
