  • 3 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts Use fresh or thawed chicken
  • 2 cups BBQ sauce Divided; recommend using Baby Ray's for flavor
  • 1.5 cups apple butter Adds sweetness

Preparation
  1. Place the chicken breasts at the bottom of a 5-quart or larger slow cooker.
  2. Add 1 ½ cups of BBQ sauce and apple butter on top of the chicken.
  3. Cover the slow cooker and set it to high for 3-4 hours, or low for 5-7 hours. Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  4. Once cooked, use a fork to shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker.
  5. Stir in the remaining ½ cup of BBQ sauce to combine the flavors.
  6. Serve immediately.
