Preparation
- Place the chicken breasts at the bottom of a 5-quart or larger slow cooker.
- Add 1 ½ cups of BBQ sauce and apple butter on top of the chicken.
- Cover the slow cooker and set it to high for 3-4 hours, or low for 5-7 hours. Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Once cooked, use a fork to shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker.
- Stir in the remaining ½ cup of BBQ sauce to combine the flavors.
- Serve immediately.
