  1. Begin by placing the chicken breasts at the bottom of a 5-quart or larger slow cooker.
  2. Pour in 1 ½ cups of BBQ sauce and add the apple butter.
  3. Cover the slow cooker and set it to high for 3 to 4 hours or on low for 5 to 7 hours.
  4. The chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  5. Once it’s done cooking, use a fork to shred the chicken right in the slow cooker.
  6. Stir in the remaining ½ cup of BBQ sauce for added flavor.
  7. Serve immediately as is, or pile it onto buns, mashed potatoes, or use in a wrap.
